DARYL BAZINET

At first listen, Daryl may not sound like your typical country artist. His sound and style are all his own. But dig a little deeper and you will find those same age old, down home country values in each word he writes, sings, and performs. Faith, family, life and his observations of it. Daryl has brought together his influences from the worlds of country music and Christian Contemporary music to develop his own unique sound. Have a listen. You won't be disappointed.
" He writes the songs, I just hold the pen."

Eric Michael Hawks

“I play the kind of music I like and can be proud of. Period.”

While the very soul of country music seems to be for sale to the highest bidder these days, with elements of pop, rock, and hip hop swinging in and delivering plenty of “bro country” jams bound to leave their forebears turning in their graves, there are thankfully others intent upon holding the line and continuing in the fine tradition of the genre’s deepest roots. Eric Michael Hawks proudly counts himself among the latter and his uncompromising stance on making his music, his way, continues to draw listeners in who are delighted by the artist’s genuine country vibes and heartfelt songwriting.

As he honed his skills, Hawks added vital life experience to his resume, pulling up roots from his Clarence Creek, Ontario hometown and travelling coast to coast as a long haul trucker throughout the U.S. and Canada. The authenticity of that hard life combines with the artist’s adventurous spirit and results in his signature country sound.

Now Hawks invites you to take a long ride on the Whiskey Highway with him, taking in the sights and hearing the stories that resonate from his very soul. It’s a journey you’ll find yourself wanting to take again and again.

Seems like Chris and Alex have been playing music together forever. They live in Toronto now and sometimes play music as KOOPA with their long lost cousin Don Rankin. They are bringing their warped sense of humour, their sweet soul, and their tight chops to Shackstock this year. They will take turns singing lead while the other adds the sweet harmony.

All the way back home from Toronto, onto their home turf.

OLD WHISKEY ROAD  on stage 4:30 PM

Old Whiskey Road is an Ottawa-based band that “plays like they’re cranking out tunes for a saloon full of rowdy gunslingers.” Their combination of country, rock, blues and folk gives them a unique sound that is at times soft and sorrowful, at times wild and gritty, but always reminiscent of blue-collar life and simpler times. Led by front-man Dave Morrow and featuring the sweet harmonies of Kristine St-Pierre, OWR’s songs will stay in your head all day.

OWR was formed in 2009 and quickly began writing and performing original music. The band recorded and released an EP in 2011 and its first full-length LP Welcome Home in 2013, produced independently by Field Corbett. The band's second full-length LP Neon Lights was released in December 2015. It was recorded and produced at Pebble Studios by Gareth Auden-Hole.

They bring to mind dreams of a dystopian Muppet society or a Super Mario level you cannot escape. Their captivating sound blends influences from genres across the spectrum, including grunge, metal, folk, electronic and good ol’ rock’n’roll. Watch out for their debut full-length album, Ghost of Nuclear Future, available soon.

LITTLE DOG  on stage 9:00 PM

Little Dog plays everything from the heavier end of the blues spectrum to the most classic of classic blues.  Eric Clapton, Johnny Lang, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Billy Gibbons, Gordie Johnson and so on.  Little Dog has used their takes on the classics to be the driving part of their sound. The band doesn't 'cover' songs; they do the Little Dog version of songs.
Originals, straight up covers, reworked classics, blues, rock, and some great surprises, this band delivers every time.  You'll be amazed at the sound this three piece can put out, and you will be entertained by bluesified versions of songs like Walkin' The Dog (Aerosmith) and L'il Devil (The Cult); oh yeah, BLUESIFIED versions.
